M7.7 The Agency's Role

HISTORY: In 1961 Western Coachella Valley founded the groundwater agency which came to be known as the Desert Water Agency(DWA); and in 1968 it started providing water services to residents of Palm Springs and Cathedral City.

  1. This is an awesome organization! Oftentimes we don't realize that remote areas also need access to basic services such as water access, so it's exciting to see that this need has been addressed in this community. I'd be interested in seeing how they built the infrastructure for this program and determining if it could be something that could be replicated in developing countries that have limited water access, particularly in remote villages or mountain towns.
